For Aston Martin, Elumin8 collaborated in the development of the Dynamic Puddle Lamp — a precision-engineered lighting feature designed to transform a familiar vehicle function into a distinctive moment of theatre.
Using advanced micro digital projection technology, the system was engineered as a direct replacement for the existing puddle lamp, delivering a dynamic projection of the iconic Aston Martin name whenever the vehicle is unlocked.
The result is a compact lighting assembly that brings together sophisticated projection technology, automotive engineering and the level of refinement expected from an Aston Martin.

The Challenge
Aston Martin’s existing puddle lamp provided a familiar vehicle function. The opportunity was to transform that interaction into something more distinctive.
The challenge for Elumin8 was to introduce dynamic projection technology into a compact automotive lighting package while retaining the fit, finish and reliability expected from an Aston Martin component.
The system needed to create a visually striking projection without feeling excessive. It had to be sophisticated, precise and completely at home within the vehicle.
At the same time, the technology needed to be engineered as a practical production component capable of operating within the demanding conditions of everyday automotive use.
Our Solution
Working closely with Aston Martin, Elumin8 developed a Dynamic Puddle Lamp using precision-engineered micro digital projection technology.
The project brought together Elumin8’s experience in automotive illumination, optical engineering, product development and manufacturing to create a lighting feature that could deliver considerably more than conventional puddle lighting.
When the vehicle is unlocked, the projector creates a soft white, moving illumination of the Aston Martin name onto the ground beneath the door.
The projection gives the customer an immediate visual response, creating a sense of occasion before the door is even opened.
Behind this apparently simple interaction is a highly engineered lighting assembly. The optical and electronic elements were developed around the constraints of the vehicle, ensuring the finished product could function as a direct replacement while delivering a completely new visual experience.
The solution was subsequently made available as a genuine Aston Martin accessory across the global dealership network.
