When Range Rover launched the Evoque, it introduced a new generation of luxury SUV design — and every detail needed to reflect that ambition.
Elumin8 was selected to develop the illuminated treadplate system, building on our expertise in electroluminescent technology to create a solution engineered specifically for series production. Working alongside Tier 1 metal fabricator GSM, Elumin8 delivered the electronic design, development and validation of the illumination system for both three-door and five-door Evoque models.
The programme demonstrated Elumin8’s ability to take advanced lighting technology from development into high-volume automotive production. Manufactured through our established Asian production partner, the illuminated treadplates were supplied consistently and on time, with Elumin8 providing ongoing technical support throughout the programme.
The result is a refined illuminated feature that adds a distinctive touch to the Evoque interior while delivering the reliability, consistency and production capability required for a global vehicle programme.

The Challenge
Create an illuminated treadplate system that complemented the Evoque’s distinctive design while delivering the technical reliability, consistency and scalability required for series-production volumes.
The solution needed to combine advanced electroluminescent technology with robust automotive engineering, while providing a dependable supply throughout the life of the programme.
Our Solution
A fully developed electroluminescent illumination system engineered and validated by Elumin8 for the Range Rover Evoque.
Building on our development of a fully compliant EL inverter, Elumin8 adapted the technology for the Evoque application and managed the electronic design, development and validation testing required to take the system into production.
Working with Tier 1 metal fabricator GSM and our established manufacturing partner in Asia, Elumin8 provided a complete supply solution capable of supporting high-volume series production. The programme was supported by ongoing technical expertise from Elumin8 throughout its lifecycle.
The Outcome
A distinctive illuminated treadplate system that became part of the Range Rover Evoque programme across both three-door and five-door models.
The project demonstrated Elumin8’s ability to deliver advanced illumination technology at automotive production scale — combining specialist electronic design and development with consistent manufacturing, reliable supply and long-term programme support.
