LG Display’s 16-inch Dual View OLED can present different images to driver and
passenger from the same panel, offering a new answer to dashboard screen
proliferation.

A display with two audiences
LG Display’s Dual View OLED is designed to send separate images towards the driver and passenger from a
single 16-inch automotive panel. It can be used as a centre information display, passenger display or rear-seat
entertainment screen.
Space efficiency becomes a feature
The technology addresses a growing interior-design problem. Carmakers want to give passengers richer digital
experiences without covering the entire dashboard with separate rectangles. If one physical surface can perform
two visual jobs, the cabin can remain simpler.
Safety and entertainment
Viewing-direction control also creates a useful separation of function. Information relevant to driving can remain
visible to the driver while entertainment content is directed towards the passenger, reducing the need for a
second panel.

The wider lesson
This is another example of functionality increasing without an equivalent increase in component count. That
principle is central to future interiors: more capability from fewer visible objects.
The Lux View
The next stage of cockpit design may not be bigger screens, but smarter use of surface area. Dual-view
technology suggests that display innovation can reduce visual clutter rather than adding to it.
