Hyundai’s Concept THREE develops its Parametric Pixel lighting into a gradient
graphic, showing how a simple digital motif can become a persistent brand asset.

A motif that travels
Hyundai has used Parametric Pixel lighting across its IONIQ family for several years. On Concept THREE, the
front and rear pixel graphics become more expressive, using gradients to add depth and rhythm.
Why pixels work
A pixel is an unusually useful brand device for an electric vehicle. It references digital technology without requiring
a literal screen, and it can be interpreted through lamps, graphics, architecture and even exhibition design.
Consistency without sameness
The challenge for a brand signature is to remain recognisable without forcing every model to use identical
hardware. A modular lighting language can evolve in scale, density and animation while retaining a family
resemblance.

From styling to system
As light sources become more addressable, a visual motif can also carry functional information. That creates an
opportunity for branding and HMI to share the same physical elements.
The Lux View
The strongest lighting signatures are becoming design systems rather than individual lamp shapes. Hyundai’s
pixels show how a simple graphic vocabulary can survive changes in vehicle type, technology and scale.
